The Luxembourg Agency for Research Integrity (LARI) is the national research integrity office of Luxembourg.  LARI is a non-profit organization and was established in 2016 as a joint venture between the Luxembourg National Research Fund (FNR), the University of Luxembourg, the Luxembourg Institute of Health (LIH), the Luxembourg Institute for Socio-Economic Research (LISER) and the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST). A member of the European Network of Research Integrity Offices (ENRIO), the Institute of Research and Action on Fraud and Plagiarism in Academia (IRAFPA) and the European Network for Academic Integrity (ENAI), pursues a twofold mission:

  • Promoting research integrity and responsible conduct of research;
  • Ensuring an independent inquiry and investigation in cases of alleged research misconduct.

The key reference document guiding the activities of LARI is the European Code of Conduct for Research IntegrityOur activities to promote research integrity and responsible conduct of research aim to support all actors across the research ecosystem of Luxembourg in fostering good research practices conducive to translating the principles of reliability, honesty, respect and accountability as defined in the European Code of Conduct for Research Integrity into practice. Our investigative activities focus on ascertaining whether an allegation of research misconduct is valid and developing recommendations for corrective and restorative action in cases where research misconduct has been found.
