In recent days, various recipients received emails from a Gmail account pretending to be operated by LARI. This account is a fraudulent and malicious attempt to impersonate LARI.
We would like to clarify that:
- LARI does not own or operate any Gmail accounts. All emails from LARI are exclusively sent from @lari.lu accounts.
- All investigations carried out by LARI’s National Commission for Research Integrity are strictly confidential.
- In accordance with the Rules of Procedure for the National Commission for Research Integrity and as a matter of principle, LARI does not share any information about research integrity investigations with actors who are not a party to the investigation or whose testimony as witnesses could help the Commission in ascertaining facts relevant to an investigation.
- All parties to an investigation as well as all witnesses who obtain information about an investigation are bound by an obligation to protect the confidentiality of investigations. They are not authorized to disclose any information related to investigations and commit – at a minimum – a serious research integrity violation if they do so.
If you have received a suspicious email, please let us know immediately so that we can take appropriate countermeasures.
Whenever you are unsure whether an email or other communication you have received was indeed sent by LARI, please contact our Secretary-General Tom Lindemann via email (secretarygeneral@lari.lu) or phone (+352 621 553 884).
